Sectors under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism play a critical role in ensuring food security; sustainability of forest resources; job opportunities as well as the country's image and competitiveness at the regional and international levels. The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism outlined the matters at the Discussion Session with Members of the Legislative Council. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin explained that the Ministry will continuously streamline efforts by reviewing strategies, introducing new methods and approaches according to current needs to implement continuous and effective improvements as well as changes in implementing the Ministry's strategic initiatives, programmes and projects.

The Minister added that the approach taken by the Ministry is still focused on three main foci namely increasing the Output of the Primary Resources and Agrifood Industries, supporting the Progress and Development of the Tourism Industry and Strengthening efforts in the Development of Forest Resource Conservation.

The session continued with a briefing on Achievements and Developments for the year 2025 and the Direction of the Primary Resources and Tourism Sector followed by a discussion and question and answer session. The Discussion Session took place at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, 20th January morning.
